The transport container is for a Size 90 automatic rifle, and comprises a bottom part (4) and a lid (6), each with an insert (24, 26) positively securing the rifle (90) with the butt (92) folded. The inserts have protrusions (34, 40, 44) arranged so that the container (2) can only be locked when empty, or when the rifle is in the fully-inserted position. There can be a first protrusion bearing against a magazine inserted in the rifle, preventing shutting when one is inserted. ADVANTAGE - Easy checking that rifle is unloaded when in container.
