According to the invention, the cover comprises a dish (14) whose raised edge is provided with a first annular wall (16), connected to an external skirt (18) by the intermediary of an annular portion whose internal face is curved to cooperate with the rounded edge of the opening of the container, this curved face and/or the external face of the said first annular wall (16) being provided with flexible lips (24, 22). The invention makes it possible to improve the strength of the package when it is dropped and to improve resistance to internal air pressure. <IMAGE>
