<p>A closure unit for a container, preferably a keg for filling and dispensing a beverage stored under a pressurizing gas, comprises a bush 17 supporting valve means for the passage of gas and beverage, and a threaded locking sleeve 50 which sandwiches a deformable ring 40 between it and the bush 17. The ring 40 and locking sleeve 50 preferably intermeshing saw toothed profiles 41, 52 which allow locking to occur thereby deforming the ring 40 to prohibit gas flow from the container 10 between the neck 12 and the bush (17). However, upon unlocking, the profile 52 fractures the profile allowing depressurizing of the container. The valve means preferably includes concentric valves (26, 28, Fig. 2) and a tubular element (3, Figs. 4-6) surrounded by resilient material (38) which forms a gas seal for the outer (28) of the two valves, and which embeds a radially outward extending flange (31) of the tubular element (37) with the resilient material (38) passing through apertures (39) in the flange (31) to form a continuous mass. <IMAGE></p> |
