PURPOSE:To produce fine ornamental patterns having high durability on the spectacle frame made of a metal by forming a titanium compd. film layer on the surface of the spectacle frame, then irradiating the prescribed positions of this film layer with a laser in the atm. CONSTITUTION:After underlying plating is applied on the spectacle frame made of the metal, a brown film is formed of titanium nitride, titanium carbide, titanium nitrocarbide, etc., by an ion plating method in the prescribed positions on the surface of the spectacle frame. The film is partly irradiated with the laser. The irradiation with the laser is executed in the atm. by using a laser marking device ('SL475R' produced by NEC) having a laser oscillator ('Nd: Laser SL115R' produced by NEC) which emits an Nd:YAG laser and by setting the processing speed of the laser marking device at 80 mm/sec. The carbon bonded with the titanium of the irradiated parts is substd. with the nitrogen in the air or the titanium nitride, the titanium carbide or the titanium nitrocarbide is decomposed after the execution of the irradiation with the laser and the film of the irradiated parts exhibits the golden color of the titanium nitride. |
