PURPOSE:To provide the subject web free from the breakage of fibers, having excellent tensile strength and tear strength and free from cloudiness, etc., by laminating warp groups to weft groups, fixing the crossed portions thereof with binding fibers, and subsequently melt-adhering the binding fibers to the warps and wefts. CONSTITUTION:Warp groups 1 and wefts 2 arranged at a prescribed interval are laminated each other without weaving and the cross portions thereof are fixed with binding fibers 3. The surfaces of the binding fibers are softened or melted to melt-adhere the warps 1 and the wefts 2 with the binding fibers 3 for providing the objective web. The web is prepared e.g. by the following processes comprising laminating the warps 1 and the wefts 2 to each other with a rapier loom equipped with a binding device, lacing the warps 1 with the binding fibers 3, enveloping the wefts 2, and subsequently softening or melting the surfaces of the binding fibers in a heating device. |
