PURPOSE:To transport and/or distribute cold storage commodities highly efficiently and economically by a method wherein cold air or cold water, supplied from a cold air producing unit and a cold water producing unit, is conducted selectively and the cold air is introduced into a container through a common supplying pipe while air in the container can be recovered from a discharging pipe. CONSTITUTION:The selection of air-cooling or water-cooling and the selection of a cold storage temperature are effected in accordance with the kind of commodities received in a container 12. When air-cooling is set, an air-cooling switching unit 19 and a water-cooling switching unit 22 in two stages are operated to open the air cooling pipelines and close water-cooling side pipelines. When a temperature band setting switch 14 is operated, a cold air temperature switching unit 18 is operated to open only one pipeline between a cold air chamber 16a or another cold air chamber 16b and communicate a supplying pipe 10 with the selected cold air chamber. Air in the container 12 flows out through a discharging pipe 11 and is returned into the cold air chambers 16a, 16b from an inflow pipe 20 through the air-cooling and water-cooling switching unit 22. |
