PURPOSE:To attain color display free from color shade or a color tone change in co-operation with a liquid crystal display panel by flatly forming plural colored films on a transparent base face so that their surfaces are aligned to the base face. CONSTITUTION:Plural recessed parts 14 corresponding to the color film patterns of plural colors for color filters to be formed are formed on the surface of the transparent glass base 11 by photolithographic process. Then, a red coloring material 15 is applied to the plural recessed parts 14 by operating a doctor blade 21, only the necessary red coloring material parts 15a are exposed to ultraviolet rays through a photomask 11 and cured and unexposed red coloring material parts 15 are dissolved by an organic solvent and removed to form red colored film patterns 16. Thereafter, green colored patterns 17 and blue colored patterns 18 are successively formed by the similar process to obtain a color filter having a flat surface. Thus, color display free from color shade or a color tone change can be obtained in co-operation with the liquid crystal display panel. |
