PURPOSE:To recognize road traffic information required for driving appropriately without lowering the visibility of information displayed on a screen by displaying only the information judged as significant out of various kinds of road traffic information displayable on the screen by superimposing on a map displayed on the screen. CONSTITUTION:A function to display the present location and progressive direction of its own vehicle is provided on the map displayed on the screen of a display part 1. The significance of the road traffic information read out by an information readout means 11 is judged by an information limiting means 12, which limits the output of the information with low significance to the display part 1. In such a way, it is possible to prevent the visibility of required information lowered by preventing unrequired information displayed by superimposing on the map displayed on the screen of the display part 1.
