PURPOSE:To efficiently display road traffic information on a recommendation route required for driving on a screen by setting the display area of a map so that the display length of the recommendation route can be extended to a maximum when the recommendation route is displayed on the screen of a display part. CONSTITUTION:A present location estimating means 5 which estimates the present location of its own vehicle, a recommendation route setting means 9 which sets the recommendation route to a destination, and a display area setting means 11 which sets the display area so that the length of the recommendation route being displayed on the screen can be set at the maximum value are provided. In other words, the display area of the map is set so that the length of the recommendation route being displayed on the screen can be set at the maximum value. Thereby, it is possible to easily and accurately recognize the summary of the recommendation route by observing the screen of the display part 1, and also, to efficiently display a large pieces of road traffic information located in the neighborhood of the recommendation route on the screen. |
