PURPOSE:To measure the mass accurately, by providing a means, which offsets the moment due to a centrifugal force acting on a linking mechanism in association with the linking mechanism, thereby eliminating the effect of the centrifugal force acting on various parts which are subjected to precession. CONSTITUTION:A weight 30 for adjusting is attached to a rod 13. The mass of the weight 30, distance to an axial line 8'- 8'' from the weight 30, and the distance to the rod from the weight 30 are adjusted respectively, so that the moment caused by the centrifugal force acting on a supporting point 9 is offset. In this method, the apparent force acting on a rod 11 is eliminated, and the angular speed of the precession is exactly proportional to the gravity acting on a body to be measured. |
