PURPOSE:To obtain a pattern generation device which has a high pattern storage compression ratio and has no regeneration speed reduction by providing an element code conversion device, an element pattern generation device and a pattern synthesis device. CONSTITUTION:A character code is entered and is passed to a 'left-hand radical of Chinese character' element code conversion device 11 and a 'right-hand radical of Chinese character' element code conversion device 12 simultaneously. The 'left-hand radical of Chinese character' element code conversion device 11 converts the character code to an element code and passes it to the 'left-hand radical of Chinese character' element pattern generation device 13. The 'left-hand radical of Chinese character' element pattern generation device 13 generates a 'left-hand radical of Chinese character' element pattern from the element code. In the same manner, a 'right-hand radical of Chinese character' element code conversion device 12 and a 'right-hand radical of Chinese character' element pattern generation device 14 generate a 'right-hand radical of Chinese character' element pattern. A pattern synthesis device 15 synthesizes a 'left-hand radical of Chinese character' element pattern and a 'right-hand radical of Chinese character' element pattern to generate a character pattern. Thus the volume of pattern storage can be reduced and the generation speed of a character pattern can be accelerated beyond the limits of a compression ratio and an expansion rate in the protocol of pattern compression and expansion by setting a device to synthesize 'left-hand radical of Chinese character' and 'right-hand radical of Chinese character' element patterns. |
