<p>PURPOSE:To secure the pattern code reader by providing a tablet, a signal detection pen having the capacity coupling to the electrode wires of the tablet, and a card where the conductors are optionally arranged corresponding to the electrode wires between the detection pen and these wires. CONSTITUTION:An input card 5 is put into a recess 6 of a coordinate input device 1, and a signal detection pen 2 is moved in the direction orthogonal to the electrode wires 4 inxits ON state. If no conductor 8 exists between the pen 2 and the wires 4, the device 1 detects the accurate position coordinates and an arithmetic processor 11 stores this detected coordinates in a memory. Meanwhile the device 1 outputs nothing if a conductor 8 exists between the pen 2 and the wires 4. The input coordinate value is compared with a pattern corresponding to the code stored previously in the memory for discrimination of the code recorded on the card 5. This discriminated code is outputted to a display LED of the device 1.</p> |
