PURPOSE:To manufacture uniform FRTP with high density by adhering thermoplastic resin powders and hollow spherical bodies on the surface of a glass fiber bundle. CONSTITUTION:When FRTP is manufactured by press-molding and injection- molding, a molding material is used wherein hollow spherical bodies, or hollow spherical bodies and thermoplastic resin powders are adhered on the surface of glass fibers. The glass fiber bundle used herein is such a type that, for example, glass fibers are given with a converging agent, and the 20-2000 pieces thereof are employed. For the hollow spherical bodies, glass balloons are suitable to be used and they are relatively small diameter of the order of 1-200mu in its particle diameter. The hollow spherical bodies are preliminarily blended with a thermoplastic resin molten substance and they can be adhered to the surface of a continuous glass fiber bundle, however, it is suitable that the hollow spherical bodies are adhered to the sure of the glass fiber bundle by the use of an adhesive agent. For the adhesive agent, polyurethane, epoxy resin, and the like are made into solution, and such adhesive agent is given thereto by spray, dip and the like. |
