A grasper-cutter (30) instrument for a resecting procedure includes an elongated shaft (32), a stationary jaw (38) connected at the distal end of the elongated shaft (32), a rotating jaw (40) being connected at the distal end of the elongated shaft (32), a grasp release mechanism for rotating the rotating jaw (40) in relation to the stationary jaw (38), a translating blade (54) extending along a side of the shaft (32), the blade (54) having a blade end (58), being translatable from a retracted position to an extended position in which the blade end is extended to a position substantially equal with distal ends of the stationary, rotating jaws, a retracting extending mechanism for translating the blade (54) from its retracted position to its extended position, and back.
