<p>PURPOSE:To enable a spark ignition engine using fuel of low starting properties such as alcohol, etc., to be started at low temperatures by preheating fuel with a low heating value when an ignition switch is turned on at the start of the engine, and heating the fuel with a high heating value when a self-starter motor is rotated. CONSTITUTION:While fresh air is at low temperatures, a cooling water temperature sensor T is turned on, and when an ignition switch 32 is switched from an OFF contact to an IG contact under those conditions, then a heater 30 is connected to a battery 31 via a resistance R and preheats fuel with a low heating value. Next the ignition switch 32 is put in a turning movement and connected to an ST contact in addition to the IG contact and then a self-starter motor M is rotated and the heater 30 is connected is series to the battery 31 and a large current is made to flow through the heater 30 and thereby fuel supplied from a fuel feed valve 10 is heated by the heater 30 with a high heating value and is atomized into fine drops at the atomizing portion of an ultrasonic vibrating member 10 and thus evaporation of the fuel is accelerated so as to enhance ignition properties.</p> |
