A multistage electrical switch has a number of fixed contacts (9) supported in holders (10) set around a circular arc. Each contact has a connector (11) for external use. The movable contact is in the form of a pressed metal strip (8) with a spring characteristic and is supported at one end by being fixed to a contact pad (BE). The spring contact is in the form of a curved section that moved by a pivot-mounted (3) actuator arm (2). The end of the arm is shaped (6, 7) to slade smoothly over the spring contact. After 90 deg. movement the unit is securely held agains the contact. ADVANTAGE - More secure electrical contact engagement.
