The filling station pump column has a fuel metering device and gas return plus a tap valve and actuator and gas exhauster sleeve and a tap hose enclosing a coaxial gas return sleeve. A control device controls gas return as a function of fuel dispensed and consists of a control valve between hose and metering device, a choke acting as flowmeter and a coupled adjuster within the gas path. The control valve housing (11) should connect at one end to the fuel feedline (22) and at the other to the tap hose (7)and gas return hose (8) and a gas return line (13) is led off one side of the housing to the return pump. Within the housing fuel and gas flows are separate and a choke (14) in the fuel path varies its position from its seat (15) depending on return spring (16) and fuel flow volume so as to adjust, via a magnetic coupling (17,18), the gas control cone (19) in relation to its seat (20) in the same sense as the choke (14) relative its seat. The choke (14) is enclosed by a bypass (21) fitted with an adapter screw (22). USE/ADVANTAGE - Motor vehicle filling stations.
