<p>PURPOSE:To always carry out proper binding processing even when the binding thickness of image carriers is variously changed by providing a unit change-over means feeding one of a plurality of binding units to a binding part corresponding to the number of the image carriers flowing in the binding part detected by a number-of-paper detection means. CONSTITUTION:After the output number (n) of papers is inputted to a main body apparatus A, it is judged whether binding processing is carried out. In the case of YES, n>=N is judged with respect to the set number N of papers and a binding unit 72 is selected and, in the case of NO, a binding unit 71 is selected and either one of the selected binding units is fed to a predetermined position 96. When this operation is completed, image forming operation is carried out and, when copy is completed, binding processing is carried out by the order from a control apparatus 61. A small-size needle 101 is fitted to the binding unit 71 and a large-size needle 102 is fitted to the binding unit 72. Since an image forming apparatus has a paper sheet binding apparatus and selects either one of the binding units, proper binding processing can be always carried out even when binding thickness is dissimilar.</p> |
