PURPOSE:To reduce the difference in temperature between different heights inside a room during cooling so as to make the air conditioning in the space comfortable by providing a control means for switching over between an outlet designed to eject a current of air in a spiral around the outlet and an outlet designed to eject a current of air upward. CONSTITUTION:In usual cooling, cool air is sent into the room through an outlet opening 10 in an outlet 4, which opening is designed to make the ejected air at the periphery of the outlet 4 spiral around the outlet. When, in this state of cooling, a temperature sensor detects that the difference in temperature between different heights in the room is increased, a control means 6 sends a signal to a stepping motor 7 to turn an air passageway-shifting rotary plate 5 by a specified angle. As a result, cool air is sent into the room through an outlet opening 9 which is designed to eject a current of air upward. The opening in area and the louver angle of the outlet opening 9 are smaller than those of the outlet opening 10, so that cool air is ejected at a greater velocity and straightly upward. This constitution reduces the possibility of warm air staying stagnant, and the difference in temperature between different heights in the room is decreased. |
