Thiopenem derivs. of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are new. R = 4-6 membered thiacycloalkane of formula (a): R1 = H, 2-5C alkoxycarbonyl, 2-5C alkanoyl, 1-4C alkylsulphonyl or 1-4C alkylamino-carbonyl; R2 = H or ester gp. which is hydrolysable in vivo. Pref. 4 cpds. (I) viz. R2 = H and R1 = cis-1-oxo-1-imino-1thiacyclopent-3-yl, trans-1-oxo-1-imino-1-thiacyclopent-3-yl, cis-1-oxo-1-imino-thiacyclohex-4-yl or trans-1-oxo-1-imino-thiacyclohex-4-yl are specifically claimed. |
