PURPOSE:To simultaneously and stably remove NOx, CO and org. matter in waste gas by combining the characteristics of a catalyst having the structure of a molecular sieve with those of a ternary catalyst and allowing a reducing agent to exist always in the waste gas coming in contact with the ternary catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Waste gas contg. NOx, CO and org. matter is purified with a catalyst 4 having the structure of a molecular sieve and a ternary catalyst 5 set at front and rear positions in combination. At this time, part or most of the CO and org. matter acting as reducing agents are passes through the catalyst 4 without decomposing and brought into contact with the catalyst 5 or a reducing agent is injected into the waste gas in front of the catalyst 5. The NOx, CO and org. matter can be simultaneously and stably removed. |
