The invention relates to a composition for the treatment of hair fall, containing in a physiologically acceptable medium appropriate for a topical application at least one compound having formula (I) wherein R1 is a methyl group or NHR4 wherein R4 is a C1-C4 alkyl group or hydrogen; R2 is hydrogen or a group NHR4 wherein R4 has the same signification as hereabove; R2 may also represent methyl when R1 represents methyl; when R1 represents NH2, R2 cannot be hydrogen; R3 may represent a hydrogen atom, a C1-C4 alkyl group which may optionally carry: a group OR5 wherein R5 is a C1-C4 alkyl group, a benzenic nucleus optionally substituted by one or a plurality of C1-C4 alkoxy groups, R3 may also represent a halogen atom or a nitro or amino group, and the physiologically acceptable acid addition salts.
