<p>A chair (10) adapted to passively adjust itself to be in equilibrium with the user's body in relation to changes in the center of gravity and thigh inclination. The chair (10) includes a post (14, 50) from which is provided, in one embodiment, a convex track (24) on which a carriage (16) is allowed to travel, and a seat pan (18) is pivoted on the carriage (16) for angle adjustment relative to the carriage. In another embodiment, a first concave track (54) is provided on the top of the post with a carriage (56) slidable in the concave track (54) and a seat pan (58) mounted for travel in a track on the carriage (56) wherein the second concave track (72) has a smaller radius than the first track (60).</p> |
