摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce fuel consumption, raise output, and reduce cooling loss by forming a heat insulating member by a material having lower thermal conductivity than aluminum alloy of a cylinder head, and forming a swirl chamber- upper half space forming cavity on the lower end face of the heat insulating member. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulating member 9 is cast integrally into the wall on the upper side of a mouthpiece assembling cavity 4 of a cylinder head 2. After the casting, a swirl chamber-upper half space forming cavity 5 is formed on the lower end face 9a of the heat insulating member 9. A swirl chamber- mouthpiece 7 is fitted and fixed into the mouthpiece assembling cavity 4. The heat insulating member 9 has lower thermal conductivity than aluminum alloy of the cylinder head 2, and its thermal expansion coefficient is low. Thus, combustion starts at high temperatures, fuel injected into a swirl chamber quickly burns, irregular combustion and generation of blue-white smoke immediately after the start of engine are eliminated, fuel consumption is reduced, pressure- rise in a combustion chamber is large to raise output, and cooling loss is reduced.
