The mooring line is secured by hooking the line onto the roller (5). A direct pull on the handle (12) will cause the roller to move at right angles to line of pull. Using this principle, the line can be collected at near a buoy or pontoon where it is on, or close to the surface. Once collected, the roller is run along the rope to the bow or stern of the boat where it is lifted and secured.
