PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance heat exchanging performance by arranging a gas-liquid separator in refrigerant piping coupling the refrigerant channels of a plate type heat exchanger and combining the liquid outlet thereof with the refrigerant outlet of a plate type heat exchanger at the tail end thereby reducing the liquid film in a refrigerant circuit. SOLUTION: The water channel of a water/refrigerant heat exchanger is formed by coupling first and second plate type heat exchangers 1A, 1B through water piping 8 and a refrigerant channel is formed by coupling heat exchangers 1A, 1B and a gas-liquid separator 3 through refrigerant piping 12. Water flowing in from a water inlet 9b exchange heat with high temperature high pressure refrigerant when passing through a water outlet 10b, a water inlet 9a and a water outlet 10a to produce hot water. Refrigerant gas flowing in from a refrigerant inlet 13a is partially condensed in the heat exchanger 1A and liquefied. The gas separated by a gas-liquid separator 3 flows from an outlet 5 through a refrigerant inlet 13b and an outlet 14b into combined piping 15. Refrigerant liquid in the gas-liquid separator 3 flows from an outlet 6 into the combined piping 15.
