<p>Method for selective redn. of nitrogen oxides produced in a combustion process by oxidn. at high temp of the molecular nitrogen of the air using atomic oxygen and pyrolysis of nitrogenated fuel, by addtn. of ammonia using a vehicle into the flame zone of a burner is described. Specifically, the ammonia and its cpds. are fed to the flame using a gaseous or liq. vehicle with formation of a curtain surrounding the flame of the burner. The vehicle is pref. the combustion air in the form of a partial current of air, a mixt of combustion air and burnt gas, entirely burnt gas or a liq. The reducing agent utilised is one or more reactive cpd. of ammonia e.g. the carbonate, formate or oxalate or their aq. solns. Optimal reaction conditions are achieved since improved mixing is effected by the curtain method.</p> |
