PRODUCTION OF SCREEN PRINTING PLATE

PURPOSE:To produce a screen printing plate with a uniform film thickness without irregularities in a simple and positive manner by a method wherein a primary electrodeposition layer serving as a screen mask is formed on a conductive substrate with a uniform thickness, and the electrodeposition layer is etched imagewise and bonded to a screen mesh by secondary electrodeposition. CONSTITUTION:A metal is electrodeposited with a uniform thickness on the front surface of a conductive substrate 1 having a smooth surface to form a primary electrodeposition layer 2. On the electrodeposition layer 2, a positive- pattern resist layer 3 is formed by an exposure developing method using a photomask or a printing method. The primary electrodeposition layer is etched imagewise. The resist layer remaining on an image electrodeposition layer 2a is released. An insulating resin material 7 is charged in recessed parts 6 formed by the etching to be flush with the surface of the electrodepositon layer. A framed conductive screen mesh 8 is brought into close contact with the surface and subjected to secondary electrodeposition 9 using a metal of the same or different kind as the screen. Lastly, the resin material 7 is removed, and the screen mesh 8 with the primary electrodeposition layer 2 bonded is released from the substrate 1.
