<p>A crosslinked copolymer particle prepared by reacting a hydrophilic crosslinked copolymer particle, prepared through suspension polymerization of glycerol monomethacrylate with a crosslinkable polyvinyl compound such as ethylene glycol dimethacrylate in the presence of an organic solvent such as a monohydric alcohol having 5 to 14 carbon atoms, with a hydrophobic functional group reagent in an organic solvent for swelling the hydrophilic crosslinked copolymer particle, thereby preparing a crosslinked copolymer particle wherein a hydrophobic functional group is bonded to a hydrophilic crosslinked polymer particle through an oxygen atom derived from the hydrophilic crosslinked copolymer particle.</p> |
