A contactless infrared temp. measurement arrangement has an optical cable (4) arranged between an infrared temp. measurement device (8) and the object (2). The flexible optical cable is passed through a gas-tight seal in an aperture (3) in a wall (1) in the space between the infrared temp. measurement device and the object. The optical cable may have a lens on one or more ends. ADVANTAGE - Enables temp. to be measured of objects which are concealed from infrared temp. measurement device.
