A bacterial stress protein is described which is obtainable from Gram-positive bacteria, such as strains of Corynebacterium jeikeium. Also described are antibodies capable of recognising the stress protein and these, as well as the stress protein, provide separate means for the diagnosis and/or treatment of bacterial, particularly Coryneform infections. |
