Combined metal and ceramic rotor blade - has treated surfaces near end of bonding zone and untreated contact surfaces away from end
摘要
The combined metal and ceramic body, such as for turbocharger or gas turbine rotor blades or parts, has a forced bonding contact between the two components after at least one of the contact surfaces (5) of the metal component (3) and the ceramic component (2) have been treated in a section (10) near the end of their bonding zone (9). At least one of the contact surfaces (5) has an untreated surface area (12) at a different section from the end of the bonding zone (9). The ceramic component (2) is pref. a cylindrical body, and the metal component (3) is a cylindrical body with a recess (4) or a passage opening to hold the ceramic component. The treated surface area (10) has a low friction coefficient and the untreated surface (12) has a high friction coefficient. ADVANTAGE - The combined unit has a high strength and torsional strength without slippage. The ceramic material is undamaged during mfg. and in use.
