Optical fibre end face polishing device - with automatic displacement of holder between successive grinding tools

The polishing device has a holder (H) securing the optical fibre end section at a given angle, eg of 90 degrees, to the surface of a series of planar polishing tools (F1..F5). A control device allows the holder (H) to be displaced automatically between the polishing tools (F1..F5) which are water-cooled and separated from one another by channels (G1..G4). Pref the holder (H) is guided via 2 perpendicular linear slides (L1,L2) operated by a motor via a crank mechanism. USE - For precision grinding of optical fibre end faces in optical plug pin.
