The collection chamber has an outer floor and possibly side wall formation of concrete, on to which a metal plate structure is mounted for sealing purposes, and on the inner surface of the metal plate a reinforced concrete layer is fitted. To form the metal plate structure (4) several strips or plates (40) are joined along their adjacent edges in a lock seam formation (41), building the inner part (10) of the collection chamber. The connecting reinforced concrete layer (5) has a thickness which is twice the height of the lock seam (41). During or immediately after its application the concrete layer (5) is mechanically vibrated, causing the cement in it to penetrate the hollow and gap spaces in the lock seams, driving the air out. USE - To form a collection chamber in a storage tank for liquids threatened by water.
