Relativelystress-free mouldings are produced by converting low viscosity thermosetting/crosslinking materials in a mould to a solid state by polymerisation. The material is brought first into a homogeneously steady state before being cured in certain directions, at least one of the mould surfaces being moved to follow up the dimensional change in the direction concerned. A very large variety of polymerisations can be carried out by the process.
