PURPOSE:To ensure a long life by preventing an excess burden from loading on a mechanism part of a printer engine by a method wherein in the case where a same side is successively assigned by both means and paper of which a front side does not agree with a rear side is generated, said paper is printed only on a single side without printing on both sides. CONSTITUTION:When a both sides printing assigning command is sent from a host device 2 through a host interface 102, a CPU 106 executes the command and stores a fact that it is a both sides printing mode in a both sides mode RAM 108. Otherwise, the both sides printing mode is assigned via a panel interface 103 by operating a panel device 3. Which is stored in the both sides mode RAM 108. Then, when a front side assigning command and then a printing data together with a rear side assigning command are sent from the host device 2, the CPU 106 divides said printing data into each page data and stores in a page data buffer 109 as each page data of the front side or the rear side. |
