PURPOSE:To obtain the title treating agent not emitting smoke during thermal drawing of fiber, capable of retaining heat resistance after heat treatment, by blending a diester compound of thiodipropionic acid and a monohydric alcohol with a specific nonionic activator. CONSTITUTION:(A) 75-90wt.% diester compound of thiodipropionic acid and 12-18C monohydric alcohol is blended with (B) 25-10wt.% nonionic activator prepared by reacting adding 10-50mols ethylene oxide to a polyhydric alcohol to give a compound (preferably adduct of hardened castor oil with ethylene oxide) and reacting the compound with a monocarboxylic acid (preferably oleic acid) and a dicarboxylic acid (preferably maleic acid) to give the objective treating agent. |
