PURPOSE:To enable repeatedly using a thermal transfer recording medium with a similar concentration for a plurality of times of heated printing by constituting the recording medium from a core material composed of sublimable or heat-transferable dye and from a shell material covering the core material. CONSTITUTION:As a sublimable or heat-transferable dye constituting a core material, there can be used a sublimable dye used in a thermal transfer recording medium and a dye melting by heat to have transferability. Also, such core material may be solid or liquid. Then, as a shell material covering the core material, there are used various materials well-known heretofore such as polyurea, polyurethane, polyamide, melamine condensate, gelatin, formalin condensate, wax, polyolefin particle, metal powder and metal film. Moreover, the release of the core material may be controlled by the shell material and as such methods which can adjust the release of the core material, there are cited those of changing the material of a shell, varying the thickness of the shell, and further processing the shell material so that its properties are changed. |
