EPOXY RESIN COMPOSITION AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent stability of viscosity with time and shape stability of coating surface and suitable as an adhesive and coating agent by mixing an epoxy resin with a latent amine hardener and a hydrophilic silica to obtain a mixture having a thixotropy index smaller than a specific level. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by uniformly mixing an epoxy resin (preferably exhibiting liquid state at normal temperature), a latent amine hardener (e.g. 2-heptadecyl-imidazole) and a hydrophilic silica to obtain a mixture having a thixotropy index of <= 2.0 and preferably adding and mixing a filler to the mixture.
