PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp at a low cost and with an enhanced productivity. SOLUTION: A low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp is furnished with an arc tube 1, a holder 2 holding the tube 1, a lighting circuit 3 held at the holder 2 on its side opposite the tube 1 for lighting it up, a case 4 having a treaded portion 4a at one end and accommodating the lighting circuit 3, and a base 5 screwed fast to the threaded portion 4a. Groove 4c is provided in the threads 4b of the portion 4a. One-side ends of two leads (top lead 3a and side lead 3b) to serve as power line are connected to the lighting circuit 3. The side lead 3b is arranged along the groove 4c and pinched fast between the base 5 and threaded portion 4a.
