PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate attenuation caused at a point when an image is cap tured when printing a digital image. SOLUTION: A plurality of pixel values are given to each of digital images generated from image frames on a film roll 12. An optical attenuation compensation function is applied to each pixel element and an optical attenuation correction parameter is decided on the basis thereof. Both the optical attenuation compensation function and the optical attenuation correction parameter are used to generate an individual compensation value to each pixel element. The compensation value is applied to each pixel element.
