SOLID FUEL BURNING SPACE HEATING APPLIANCES

A solid fuel burning space heating appliance comprises a combustion chamber including front, side and rear walls, a top and a bottom. An apertured grate arrangement is provided in the combustion chamber for supporting solid fuel to be burnt in the appliance. An ash collecting region is under the grate arrangement, with air inlet means for providing air for combustion in the chamber. First air outlet means in the combustion chamber are located below the grate arrangement, and second air outlet means in the combustion chamber are located above the grate arrangement. Air diverting means is provided for selectively diverting air from the inlet means between the first and second outlets.
