PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid surface detector capable of reducing the size and having good assembling capability. SOLUTION: The detector comprises a float arm 2 provided with a float floating on the liquid surface, an arm holder 4 holding the arm 2 and provided with a fulcrum shaft 24 as a rotation fulcrum of the float arm, the first frame 29 provided with the first bearings 31 supporting the fulcrum shaft 24 of the arm holder 4, the second frame 28 provided with the second bearings 30 supporting the fulcrum shaft 24, a circuit substrate 7 fixed on the first frame 29 and a contact holder 5 having a slide contact 6 sliding on the circuit substrate 7 and fixed on the arm holder 4. The first frame 29 and the second frame 28 are fixed by welding and they are formed out of different colors.
