PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing a short circuit between upper and lower substrates. SOLUTION: The substrate for the liquid crystal display device includes an insulation substrate, a transparent electrode formed on the insulation substrate and a black matrix formed on the transparent electrode and concurrently functioning as protrusions.
