PURPOSE:To obtain the title compact powder stable to microbial contamination and capable of giving a colorless, transparent, low-sweet aqueous solution by dissolving a water-soluble dietary fiber in an oligosaccharide-contg. syrup followed by spray drying into a powdery form. CONSTITUTION:The objective powder can be obtained by dissolving (A) a water- soluble dietary fiber (pref. a degradation product of gum guaiac, locust bean gum, tamarind gum, tara gum, gumi arabicum, pectin, or xanthan gum) in (B) on oligosaccharide-contg. syrup (e.g. a syrup containing galactosyl lactose, maltotriose, fructoligosaccharide) followed by spray drying into a powdery form. |
