PURPOSE:To eliminate an exhaust hose and simplify the structure by mounting a vane-type vacuum pump to be driven by an internal combustion engine in a crankcase of the engine in such a manner that an exhaust port of the vacuum pump is opened into the crankcase. CONSTITUTION:A pump casing 8a of a lubricating oil pump 8 and a pump casing 9a of a vane-type vacuum pump 9 are integrally connected with each other by two connecting members 10 and 11 under the condition where the axes of drive shafts 8b and 9b of the pumps 8 and 9 are parallel to the axis of a crankshaft 5. The pump casings 8a and 9a thus connected are fixed by bolts to a lower surface of a bearing wall 4 in the crankcase 2. The pumps 8 and 9 are driven through gears 14 and 16 by the rotation of a gear 15 integral with the crankshaft 5. An exhaust port 9c of the vacuum pump 9 is opened into the crankcase 2 at a position higher than a lubricating oil level in an oil pan 3, thereby eliminating a conventional exhaust hose. |
