PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording reproducing device that makes it easy to identify recording content and select an objective reproducing recording area in reproducing the recording content of a reproducing original recording medium. SOLUTION: Each music recorded in a compact disc by a digest recording controlling parts 12-1 on designating the dubbing of all music is recorded one after another in a first track of a mini disc for 10 seconds with a recording mode of ATRAC3 LP4 and each music recorded in the compact disc by a recording controlling parts 12-2 after the digest recording is recorded in a track after a second track of the mini disc with recording mode designated before the digest recording. The content of the digest recording is reproduced by a digest reproducing controlling parts 12-3 on designating the reproducing of a digest and, by designating the music in the middle of reproducing the content of the digest recording, the designated music is regenerated by a selection reproducing controlling parts 12-4. Therefore, reproducing the digest recording part makes it easy to identify the whole recording content and select the reproducing music.
