PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image information processing device and its controlling method for outputting image data in a short time after receipt of an image output command. SOLUTION: When a processing command received in a step S401 is an image data output processing command, a CPU 12 searches file management information including the image data and investigates whether a flag showing image transfer information is ON or not (S410). If the flag is ON, the image data are already transferred from a HD to a RAM, so that the corresponding image data are fed to an output part 17 (S413). If the flag is OFF, the image data to be outputted are not transferred to the RAM yet, so that the image data are transferred from the HD to the RAM 19 (S411), and then, the corresponding image data are supplied to the output part 17 (S413).
