<p>NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R<1> is H or methyl; R<2> to R<4> are H, lower alkyl, aminocarbonyl, lower alkoxy(carbonyl), cyano or nitro (except that all the R<2> to R<4> are H or lower alkyl)]. EXAMPLE:(5R,6S)-2-(trans-2-Carbamoylvinyl)-6-[(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-1ca rbapen-2- em-3-carboxylic acid. USE:Useful as an antimicrobial agent having powerful antimicrobial activity against sensitive and tolerant Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and excellent stability to beta-lactamases and DHP-1 with excellent oral absorbability. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II (R<5> is carboxyl-protecting group; R<6> is H or OH-protecting group; Tf is trifluoromethanesulfonyl) is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III in the presence of a Pd compound and a salt and the protecting groups, as necessary, are then removed.</p> |
