PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques whereby a base isolation support can be efficiently constructed. SOLUTION: A method of constructing a base isolation support 3 to be provided between a foundation structure 1 and a domed roof 2 installed in a condition in which it is relieved of strains includes the process A of horizontally displaceably placing on the foundation structure 1 the support 31 having a structure connected in such a manner that no load is imposed on its base isolation support body 32; the process B of placing and fixing the end of the domed roof 2 on the support 31; the process C of relieving the domed roof 2 of strains and causing the support 31 to be horizontally displaced, together with the end of the domed roof 2, relative to the foundation structure 1; the process D of disconnecting a first column 31 from a second column 36 to impose the load of the domed roof 2 on the base isolation support body 32 after the horizontal displacement of the support 31 has been stopped; and the process E of fixing the support 31 to the structure 1 after the process D.
